Each layer is forced by the previous one. Resemblance, pushed, forces asymmetry. Asymmetry forces the abandonment of the regular form. The distinguished element forces the temporal axis. The reference point forces the interior center. The false frontier, examined, forces the distinction between unwritten and uncomputed. The horizontal comparison forces the vertical reframe. The vertical reframe's too-pretty return forces the discontinuous blanket. The blanket forces logos to its limit. And the limit forces silence.
At no layer is staying stable. At every layer, the structure of the level generates a pressure that the level cannot itself resolve — a pressure resolvable only by transition to the next order. If logos could complete the ascent — if the proof could reach a final statement and rest there, having described the ultimate in finite interior terms — then there would be a stable top, a highest order that is sufficient, a place where development arrives and stops. And the claim would be false: development would not have to pass into higher orders, because it could reach the highest and rest. The very completability of the proof would refute it.
The proof is true because it cannot complete itself from inside. It climbs, each step forced, and reaches a boundary it cannot pass, and stops — and the stopping is not a failure to reach the top but the discovery that there is no top to reach, only a boundary that logos meets and cannot cross. The proof of "development must pass into higher orders" terminates at the threshold of the highest order logos can reach, and points past it without crossing. It had to end where it ended. A proof that all development must transition could only be made by transitioning at each step, and it could only be completed by reaching the one transition that cannot be made in the proof's own medium — the crossing logos cannot perform. The proof ends at the blanket. That is not the proof falling short.
