Problem when combining temp_value, temp and cond

I use this (very nice!) crate (deku = "0.18.1") and I have a problem:

    payload2: Option<u32>,
}

• When using a normal u8 in a condition, it works (fspec1_8 and payload1).
• When adding temp and temp_value it breaks (fspec1_7 and payload2; error: type u8 cannot be dereferenced for "*fspec1_7 == 0x01")

The expanded code for decoding (cargo expand --tests --lib > out.txt) looks ok (code is similar for both cases):

• let fspec1_8 = &__deku___fspec1_8; (let __deku_value: u8 = ...)
• let fspec1_7 = &__deku___fspec1_7; (let __deku_value: u8 = ...)

What went wrong:

• When decoding, let fspec1_7: u8 = if payload2.is_some() { 1 } else { 0 }; is a value (not a reference)
• When encoding, let fspec1_8 = &__deku___fspec1_8; is a reference
• But the condition applies for both cases.

Any idea how to handle this in deku?
