This repository contains the numerical data corresponding to the results presented in the paper entitled as "Probing new physics scenarios using high energy events at the NOvA far detector". arXiv:2506.04984
In this study, we investigate the impact of the high energy (HE) neutrino events on the sensitivity of the NuMI Off-axis ππ Appearance (NOvA) experiment to constrain the off-diagonal non-standard interaction (NSI) parameters (π_ππ and π_ππ) and environmental decoherence parameter Ξ. In this context, we analyze the HE simulated events (1 < πΈ_π < 20 GeV) observed at the NOvA far detector assuming the presence of NSI and decoherence, one at a time. We examine the degeneracy observed in the π_ππ including events from 1 < πΈ_π < 5 GeV and show that it gets removed once we include HE events (signal + background) from 1 < πΈ_π < 20 GeV. In addition, we examine the role of signal versus beam background events in removing this degeneracy. Further, we comparatively investigate the uncertainty in the determination of π_23 parameter in the presence of decoherence using NOvA analysis window 1 < πΈ_π < 5 GeV and 1 < πΈ_π < 20 GeV.
The numerical data are provided in folders used to obtain results in our paper. Additional details can be found in the Readme file within each folder.
