Code Review

This PR correctly updates the lodash version in package.json to fix a security vulnerability. However, to make the fix effective, the package-lock.json file must also be updated. Without this update, the project will continue to use the old, vulnerable version. Please run npm install and commit the updated lock file.

I've also added a suggestion to pin the dependency version for better security. Additionally, the octokit dependency appears to be unused and can be removed.

critical

This version upgrade is a good step, but two things should be addressed to fully resolve the security issue and improve dependency management:

  1. package-lock.json update (Critical): For this security fix to be effective, package-lock.json must also be updated. It currently still points to the vulnerable version 4.17.21. Please run npm install to update the lock file and commit the changes.
  2. Pin dependency version (Medium): For better security, it's recommended to pin the exact version of lodash by removing the caret (^). This ensures that this specific, patched version is always used.
Suggested change
"lodash": "^4.17.23",
"lodash": "4.17.23",
