Upstream no longer supports SDL2, so it makes sense to switch over to SDL3. In this MR I port all of our examples over and improve error handling and comments in the code. I hope I didn't make any new mistakes. Please proof read this for me before merging. I'm not very good at finding my own writing errors.
The examples should all build now. The test build will let us know. I did rename some files to make them make sense. The biggest change is that the sdl image example no longer requires sdl image, because sdl natively supports png now.
