Settings

Configure RICS to match your streaming needs. Each settings category can be accessed through the mod's settings menu in RimWorld.

📋 Settings Categories

🌐 Global Settings

Core options that affect all platforms

  • Debug & Logging - Extra logs and full chat recording (use for troubleshooting)
  • Message Cooldown - Minimum seconds between viewer commands
  • Command Prefixes - Main prefix (default !) and purchase shortcut (default $)
  • Quick Status - Live Twitch / YouTube connection state
  • Price List URL - Optional link to your store prices for viewers

📺 Twitch Integration

Configure Twitch chat connectivity

  • Channel Name & Bot Username - Your stream and optional separate bot
  • Access Token + Client ID - Paste from the token generator (includes whisper scopes)
  • Auto-connect - Connect on startup
  • Whisper settings - Let viewers use commands privately + reminder timer
  • Twitch Raids - Auto-join settings with min raiders and delay

▶️ YouTube Integration

Configure YouTube Live chat connectivity
🚫 Read-only works; full send/reply may require Google verification

  • Channel ID - Your UC... identifier (Find ID helper)
  • API Key - For reading chat (Get/Paste from Google Cloud Console)
  • Connect (Read-Only) - See messages from live chat
  • API Quota - Usage bar when connected

💰 Economy Settings

Currency systems and viewer rewards

  • Coin Economy - Starting coins, base reward rate, active minutes, role bonuses (sub/VIP/mod)
  • Karma System - Starting/min/max + decay settings
  • Karma from Store & Events - Gains/losses when viewers buy or trigger events
  • Currency Name - Customize display + emoji support
  • Reset button - Restore default karma values

🎯 Game Events

Event frequency, purchase limits, and editor access

  • Event Cooldowns - Days window + max events per period
  • Karma Type Limits - Separate caps for bad/good/neutral events
  • Item Purchase Limits - Cap on !buy and related commands
  • Max Traits - Limit traits per pawn
  • Statistics + Editors - Live counts and direct buttons to Store, Traits, Weather, Events editors (requires loaded save)

🎁 Rewards Settings

Channel Points and Lootbox configuration

  • Channel Points Rewards - Table for redemptions → coins (UUID, auto-open, enabled)
  • Loot Box Settings - Coin range, daily free boxes, welcome message, force open

🤖 AI Chat Bot

AI integration settings (at bottom)

  • Enable AI Chat Bot - Master toggle for external AI storyteller
  • Listener / Response URLs - Endpoints for chat and replies
  • Send Game State / Chat History - Context for the AI
  • Can Execute Commands - Allow AI to run actions (use with caution)
  • Cleanup Leftover Files - Maintenance button for old AI files
  • Test Connection - Verify endpoint reachability

⚙️ Accessing Settings

  1. In-Game: Find RICS in RimWorld's Mod Settings menu
  2. Main Menu: Configure before loading a save
  3. Per-Save: Some settings are colony-specific

💡 Recommended Setup

For new users, we recommend:

  1. Start with Global → Enable mod
  2. Configure Twitch integration
  3. Adjust Economy rates to match your stream frequency
  4. Set Game Events cooldowns to prevent spam
