Game Events and Cooldowns 🎯

Game Event Settings Tab

The Game Events tab (full title: Game Events and Cooldowns) lets you control how frequently viewers can trigger events, buy items, and request traits. It also gives one-click access to the editors when a save is loaded.

How to Open

  1. Options → Mod Settings → RICS → Game Events tab.

Global Cooldown Settings

Enable event cooldowns

  • Master toggle for all limits.
  • When off, viewers can buy/ trigger anything as often as they want (chaos mode).

When enabled you get these controls:

Event cooldown duration in game days

  • How many in-game days the counter covers.
  • Affects: !event, !raid, !militaryaid, !weather and similar.

Events per cooldown period

  • Max number of events allowed in that window. 0 = unlimited.

Limit events by karma type

  • When on, you can set separate caps for bad, good, and neutral events.
  • Bad events: !raid and other harmful ones
  • Good events: !militaryaid and helpful ones
  • Neutral events: !weather and neutral ones

Maximum item purchases per period

  • Caps how many store purchases (and related commands like !equip, !wear, !healpawn, !revivepawn) a viewer (or overall) can do in the cooldown window.

Other Settings

Max traits for a pawn

  • Hard cap on how many traits any single pawn can receive through the mod.
  • Prevents trait stacking.

Event Management (requires a loaded game)

When you have a save loaded, this section shows:

Current Statistics

  • Store: X/Y items enabled
  • Traits: X/Y traits enabled
  • Weather: X/Y types enabled
  • Events: X/Y events enabled

Quick Editor Buttons

  • Store Editor — Prices, availability, bulk tools for items
  • Traits Editor — Which traits viewers can buy and for how much
  • Weather Editor — Weather events viewers can request
  • Events Editor — Game incidents (raids, gifts, etc.) viewers can trigger

These open the same editors you can reach from the main menu bar.

Reset

Reset to Default Values button (with confirmation dialog) resets:

  • Cooldown days and events per period
  • Karma type limits
  • Item purchase limits

Handy after experimenting.

Tips

  • Short cooldowns + high per-period numbers = lots of viewer-driven action.
  • Long cooldowns + low limits = more controlled colony story.
  • Turn on karma-type limits if you want to discourage too many raids or similar.
  • Editors only appear after loading a save — the stats and buttons are disabled on the main menu.
  • Disable cooldowns completely only for special "anything goes" streams.
